Dyno Nobel Expands Manufacturing Capabilities in Turkey with Dual Production Line Launch

Nov 4, 2025

Dyno Nobel, a global leader in commercial explosives, has inaugurated two major manufacturing expansions at its Soma facility in Türkiye. The new developments include the launch of shock tube manufacturing and an electronics assembly line for advanced detonation systems, marking a strategic investment in the company’s operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

With a presence in Soma since 1998, Dyno Nobel remains the only global explosives manufacturer with production operations in the city, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to the region.

Strengthening Regional Manufacturing Capabilities

The dual-project investment represents a combined capital expenditure of approximately AUD$1.9 million and demonstrates Dyno Nobel's commitment to establishing local production capabilities closer to key markets across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and nearby regions.

The shock tube manufacturing project is focused on establishing a new source of shock tube supply in Türkiye to open up new market opportunities both domestically and as exports to Türkiye's neighboring countries, including the Commonwealth of Independent States. With an annual production capacity of 57 million meters, the new facility will manufacture three-layer shock tube using three dedicated production lines. Commissioning is scheduled for November 2025, with production commencing in December 2025.

The electronics assembly project establishes a future electronics manufacturing hub at Soma for the EMEA region to support growth strategies across these markets. The facility will produce Digishot®, Digishot® Plus, and Driftshot® electronic detonators with an initial capacity of 132,000 units annually operating on a single-shift, single-line configuration. The electronics assembly line completed commissioning in September 2025 and will begin production in November 2025.

Driving Innovation and Operational Efficiency

"This investment in local production and employment reflects our commitment to the communities where we operate," said Burak Gönen, General Manager Dyno Nobel, Türkiye. "By establishing manufacturing capabilities for both shock tube and electronic detonation systems at Soma, we are creating new opportunities for the region and support growth strategies in EMEA markets."

The shock tube manufacturing facility introduces a new source of supply for Türkiye and neighboring countries. The electronics assembly operation establishes Soma as a future hub for precision electronic detonator production, with scalability to meet growing market demand.

Together, these projects create operational efficiencies and reinforce Dyno Nobels position as a trusted partner in blasting technology, offering both conventional and electronic solutions tailored to diverse customer needs.
